Trellis Foundation is pleased to announce $1 million in total awards to four advocacy nonprofits to support the participation of Texas college students in policy fellowships programs.
“We’re proud to support expanded capacity for these organizations who share a commitment to equitable access and outcomes for students in higher education,” said Trellis Foundation’s Executive Director Kristin Boyer. “Centering students in higher education policy development and advocacy leads to better policies responsive to the needs of those most directly impacted by political decisions.”
This cohort includes the following grantees:
- The Education Trust in Texas advocates for an equitable education for historically underserved students across the state.
- Every Texan is a nonprofit organization that researches, analyzes, and advocates for public policies to expand equitable access to health care, food security, education, and financial security.
- IDRA is a national non-profit organization that, for five decades, has worked to ensure educational justice, excellence and opportunity for all students.
- Young Invincibles is a nonprofit policy and advocacy organization dedicated to amplifying the voices of young adults in the political process and expanding economic opportunity.
